A proud moment has come from a doctoral student in the Science Education program, as Mrs. Lia Laela Sarah, under the supervision of Prof. Ida Kaniawati, has been honored with the Best Research Collaboration Award at the EASE Summer School 2025. The event was held at Guangxi Normal University in Guilin, China, from July 5 to 8, 2025.
Organized by the East-Asian Association for Science Education (EASE). The event carried the theme “STEM Education in the Era of Artificial Intelligence (AI)”. The summer school program aimed to provide valuable opportunities for sharing research experience and fostering future research collaboration among research students from EASE (East Asia) constituent regions.
During the four-day program, the activities included keynote lectures by science education scholars, group discussion (divided into two parts: dissertation and collaborative proposal), and the presentation session. Senior professors shared their experiences and research works in science education. Students from different regions were grouped, and each group of students was mentored by a scholar as they discussed their dissertation and developed a cross-region collaborative research proposal. The meeting was closed with the awarding of the best collaborative proposal.
Mrs. Lia Laela Sarah and her team were recognized for their outstanding research collaboration project. This award not only highlights the academic excellence of UPI’s Doctoral Program in Science Education but also strengthens its visibility on the international stage. Congratulations to Mrs. Lia, Prof. Ida Kaniawati, and the entire team on this well-deserved recognition!
