BANDUNG, SEPTEMBER 23, 2025 – Bintang Akalla Junjunan, a student from the Physics undergraduate program at the Indonesia University of Education (UPI) class of 2023, has been officially selected to join the Google Student Ambassador (GSA) program class of 2025. This prestigious program selects talented students with a high enthusiasm for technology and leadership potential to become a bridge between Google and the academic community on their campuses.
As a GSA, Bintang will carry out three main missions. First, he will ensure that all UPI students have the opportunity to upgrade to Google AI Pro for free, an exclusive offer that will end on October 6, 2025. Second, he will serve as a technology influencer on campus, creating educational content about the use of Google AI, particularly Gemini, to support academic activities. Third, Bintang will lead the formation of the #TeamGoogle community at UPI, a collaborative forum for students interested in AI technology.
Bintang’s unique profile as both a physicist and technology practitioner gives him a distinct advantage. Beyond his formal studies in physics, he has proactively earned various certifications in IT, including Machine Learning, Data Science, and Web3. His authority in the field of AI is further cemented by his “Gemini Certified Educator” certification directly from Google.
His tangible contribution to his alma mater is also evident in his role as a Web Developer at the Center for Excellence of Lesson and Learning Studies (CELLS) UPI, where he is responsible for developing the official website of this center of excellence. “I am very enthusiastic about bridging the world of science and technology for my friends at UPI,” said Bintang.
“My vision is to show that AI like Gemini can be an extraordinary collaborative partner. For physics students, we can use it for data analysis from experiments or even simulations. For other majors, features such as Deep Research can accelerate thesis work, while NotebookLM can convert lecture notes into audio summaries. These are tools to sharpen our critical thinking, not replace it.”
Bintang’s leadership skills have been honed through various strategic roles in organizations, including as Head of Curriculum at the UPI Physics Student Association (HMF) Computing Club and Regional Coordinator for the Indonesian Islamic Astronomy Club (IIAC) in West Java. This experience has equipped him to build an active and inclusive #TeamGoogle community at UPI.
