Master of Physics Education Program Organizes PKM Activities Utilizing Technology in Physics Experiments
Based on the results of a study of physics teachers in Indonesia, a workshop on laboratory equipment is the most needed thing by physics teachers today. By connecting the needs of teachers with technological developments, workshops on the use of technology-based software as a support for experiments for physics teachers are solutions offered by the physics education master program in the framework of PKM events.
This PKM activity in collaboration with MGMP physics in Bandung and SEAMEO QITEP in science was held online and offline on September 29-30 and October 7, 2023. The theme of this activity is very much in line with the needs of high school physics teachers. This activity was officially opened and closed by the head of the physics education study program, Dr. Achmad Samsudin, S.Pd., M.Pd. This workshop provides an opportunity for physics teachers to deepen the use of technology in physics experiments. The speakers on the first day of online activities on September 29, 2023, were Dr. Ika Mustika Sari, S.Pd., M.PFis. and Prof. Dr. Andi Suhandi, S. Pd., M. Si. The activity on the first day discussed three software supporting physics teacher experiments and an overview of LKPD in general. The three software are PhET, phyphox, and physics toolbox. Online activities are carried out using the Zoom meeting feature and offline activities are located at BBGP West Java.
The speakers for offline activities on the second day on 30 September 2023 were Dr. Selly Feranie, S.Pd., M.Si., Drs. Dedi Sasmita, M.Si. and Dr. Ahmad Aminudin, S.Si., M.Si. Each speaker explained one software and how to make the LKPD. In this activity, teacher participants were directed to be able to make virtual laboratory LKPDs in improving science process skills for various supporting software.
On the last day, October 7, 2023, the participants with the best LKPD presented the LKPD results in front of all participants, committees, and lecturers online through a Zoom meeting. Various inputs from lecturers were given for the perfection of the participant teacher’s LKPD.
