Bandung, January 2025 — The Chemistry Education Masters Study Program, FPMIPA Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, is entering the final stage of preparation to participate in the international accreditation process through the Accreditation, Certification, and Quality Assurance Institute (ACQUIN). The visitation process is scheduled to take place at the end of June 2025, marking a major step towards global recognition of educational quality.
Preparations for ACQUIN accreditation have begun since 2024, by forming a task force team consisting of lecturers and education staff. This team is working intensively to compile the main document in the form of a Self Assessment Report (SAR), which contains an in-depth evaluation of the curriculum, learning process, resources, quality management, and graduate outputs.
From National to International
Previously, the Chemistry Education Masters Study Program had achieved “UNGGUL” accreditation from the Independent Education Accreditation Institute (LAMDIK). This achievement is a strong foundation to go further in obtaining international recognition from the German accreditation institution.
ACQUIN itself is an internationally recognized accreditation institution, especially in the European region, and has a high reputation in ensuring the quality of higher education based on global standards. By following this process, it is hoped that study programs can increase competitiveness, international visibility, and expand cross-country academic collaboration.
Commitment Towards Global Quality Standards
The Head of the Chemistry Education Masters Study Program said that ACQUIN accreditation is not just about gaining recognition, but also a momentum for comprehensive evaluation and reflection on the quality of education that has been running.
“This preparation not only requires technical work, but also a collective commitment from the entire academic community to continue to maintain and improve quality sustainably,” said the representative of the task force team.
Through the active involvement of various parties—lecturers, students, alumni, and partners—the Chemistry Education Masters Study Program targets the best results in this accreditation process, and continues to be committed to becoming a center of excellence in chemistry education that is adaptive to the development of science and global needs.
